About This SkillsCheck
Electrician Level 1 SkillsCheck is an entry-level assessment aligned to the Canadian Red Seal Occupational Standard for pre-apprentice and entry-level construction electricians and apprentices.
This SkillsCheck assessment evaluates foundational knowledge, skills, and abilities and includes key competencies such as:
- Safety procedures including PPE use and lockout/tagout
- Use of common and specialty tools and equipment
- Interpretation of plans, drawings, and specifications
- Fabrication and installation of support components
- Installation and servicing of electrical systems
- Communication and mentoring techniques
How It's Used
This SkillsCheck evaluates theoretical understanding and problem-solving skills aligned with industry standards to ensure apprentices are prepared for tasks expected at the Level 1 stage.
